St Mirren came through as underdogs against Icelandic side Vaduz in the previous round, and they will need to overcome the odds once again if they are to progress. They managed to put four goals against Vaduz, but it’s unlikely we will see them score that many this time around. Brann are very good at keeping a game tight and growing into the game, they are the favourites but won’t want to do anything silly, and they will make sure they head into the second leg drawing at worst. Their games often start slow, and they are the only team in Norway that averages under one goal in the first half.

A bore draw could be on the cards

With the game likely to start slow, we may not see it open up till at least the second half, but as the game goes on both teams won’t want to lose it, so I don’t expect things to be too open, and this could well end up 0-0.
