St Pauli vs SC Freiburg Predictions

The best bet may well be that both teams score when St Pauli host Freiburg at Millerntor-Stadion on Sunday.

Freiburg are eight places above St Pauli in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts are 16th with six wins and 14 defeats, while the visitors are eighth with nine wins and ten losses.

St Pauli’s recent form has been inconsistent, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six games. They have gone six home games since their last defeat in the league, but Freiburg are on a run of two successive wins over St Pauli.

Both teams are struggling defensively. St Pauli have conceded in 17 of their last 20 home games, while Freiburg have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five matches – they are on a run of eight away days without recording a shutout.

Freiburg should get a goal here. They have scored an average of two goals a game in their seven Bundesliga games against teams in the bottom five this season.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. St Pauli have played three successive games in the Bundesliga with fewer than three goals.
