Strasbourg vs Dijon Predictions

• Dijon have conceded 19 goals in their last seven games, although ten of these came in two matches against PSG.
• Strasbourg have lost just two of their last ten games at home, scoring 19 goals along the way.
• Strasbourg have netted nine goals in their last three hostings of Dijon.

Dijon Seeing Goals At Both Ends

Dijon got their first win in seven matches last week as they managed to edge past Toulouse 2-1. The Mustards had been on a barren winless run prior to the game so will be pleased with the result although with it coming against this season’s whipping boys Toulouse, they aren’t out of the jungle yet. 

Despite winning, Dijon should be more concerned by the fact that they even conceded in the game. Toulouse entered the match on a run of seven games without a goal so the Mustards should be disappointed by their lack of a clean sheet. Dijon have generally been defensively weak recently with 19 conceded in their last seven games. Ten of these were scored by Paris over two games but the nine in the five other matches is still poor. 

Strasbourg Banking On Home Form

Strasbourg had their clash with PSG canceled last week because of Coronavirus but manager Thierry Laurey will be hoping that they can make the most of their spare week of rest here. The cancelation also means that the Alsatians have had a week extra to mull over their 3-0 loss to Montpellier in their last match. It was a rare awful performance from Strasbourg but they should be confident of bouncing back here as they return to the Stade de la Meinau.

At home Strasbourg have been incredible this season with just two losses in their last ten games in the east of France. These came against Champions League chasing Lille and Lyon so Strasbourg shouldn’t be too disheartened and rather just ready to put a few past Dijon. The hosts have scored 19 goals in their last ten home games and nine in their last three hostings of Dijon. 

The Hosts To Keep Up Their Attacking Flair?

Dijon have the second worst away record in Ligue 1 and with them travelling to the fortress that is the Stade de la Meinau, we’re backing the hosts to get the win. We’re expecting the Alsatians to score over 1.5 goals here as they have done so in four of their last seven home games. 

Strasbourg also have a great record at home to Dijon and with the visitors conceding at least two goals in each of their last four away days in the league we can see this happening here. We’re backing this to end 2-1 to the hosts, the visitors have been solid in attack recently so we can see them getting on the scoresheet here against a team that conceded three last time out but ultimately we see the home side getting the win.
