      Sweden vs Wales Predictions

If you needed a definition of a one-man team, you would point to Sweden. Zlatan Ibrahimovic possesses all of the quality in the Sweden side and they looked absolutely dreadful going forward when they rested him for the friendly against Slovenia.

They barely mustered an effort and never looked like winning with their talisman on the bench. He is almost certain to return on Sunday for their final preparation game before the start of the tournament, and fortunately for them he has the ability to win a game all by himself.

He’s not the only world class player that will take to the pitch though. Gareth Bale is fully rested after another Champions League triumph and will now set his sights on leading Wales to glory in France.

This is Wales’ first and last warm-up friendly for the European Championships, with their last match coming in Ukraine back in March and seeing them lose for the 3rd time in five matches. Overall, they have won just one of their last six games, so it’s a good job they enjoyed a positive qualification run prior to this dip in form at the end.

Sweden required a playoff match against arch rivals Denmark to qualify, which they promptly won 4-3 on aggregate thanks to none other than Zlatan, who netted three goals across the two legs of the tie. Their form hasn’t been particularly great recently though, with just one of their last six ending in victory and four draws being played out in the process.

In Ibrahimovic and Bale both of these teams have players capable of winning matches by themselves. Wales have more quality in the centre of the park as well, but Sweden have the home advantage. I think both teams will be able to find a goal on Sunday, Sweden because of their home advantage and Wales because of Bale’s pace against a sluggish Sweden back line.

Sweden have conceded in eight of their last 12 games as well, whilst Wales have in each of their last five and have scored in six of their last nine. When Wales have failed to score it’s generally been when Bale has been out injured, and the same goes for Sweden with Ibrahimovic, and both are expected to play on Sunday. This makes odds of 23/20 for Both Teams to Score look very good value, so I’m backing that along with a 2-2 correct score prediction at huge odds of 20/1.
