Sweden Women vs Switzerland Women Predictions

  • Sweden have won 12 of their 13 prior meetings with Switzerland
  • Switzerland were on the back foot for long spells against Portugal, who won the xG battle 3.13-0.99 in their opener.
  • Sweden had the better of their opening game against the Dutch, recording an xG of 1.67 to the Netherlands 0.49.

Swedes are superior to Swiss

Sweden can confirm their superiority over Switzerland and take a big step towards qualification from Group C of the Women’s European Championship on Wednesday.
Sweden have won 12 of their 13 prior meetings with La Nati, who were disappointed not to get their campaign off to a winning start against Portugal. Nils Nielsen’s side came roaring out of the blocks to go 2-0 up inside five minutes, but collapsed in the second half as A Selecção das Quinas recovered to grab a point.
That, and the fact that Olympic Silver Medallists Sweden were held by the Netherlands on Saturday, means neither team can afford another slip-up in this pivotal clash.

Rolfo can register another goal

The Swedes created more than the defending European champions at Bramall Lane, mainly through their wing-backs – although their fluid frontline of Lina Hurtig, Fridolina Rolfö, and Kosovare Asllani will again be a big threat.
Rolfo was denied a winner when her powerful drive was smartly saved minutes from full time, but the Barcelona star looks a good option in anytime goalscorer betting to grab her 23rd international strike. Her cause should be aided by the likely return of Stina Blackstenius, who was only fit enough to feature for 20 minutes at the weekend.

With both teams keen to push for what could prove a crucial victory in Group C, this game should have an open feel and the odds on over 2.5 goals being scored look attractive – but Sweden can take it 2-1.
