Swindon vs Fleetwood Town Predictions

These two teams come into this match having experienced somewhat contrasting fortunes of late. Swindon haven’t quite been at the races in their last two fixtures, losing 3-2 in the FA Cup on their own patch before slumping to a 4-0 defeat at Sheffield United. On the other hand, Fleetwood can approach this one in good condition having won their FA Cup match during the week, albeit in dramatic late style, while they’re also unbeaten in seven matches on the spin (all-competitions).

From a betting view, the way to play this one is ‘Both Teams to Score’. One team might be in better form than the other, but there’s plenty of reason to think both are capable of getting on the score-sheet here.

Swindon have fared much better at home than they have on the road. The hosts have scored in all but two of their ten home matches, scoring a total of 12 goals. Couple this with the fact that Fleetwood have scored in every single one of their away matches and things look good.

On the road, Fleetwood have struggled to keep things tight at the back (conceding in all but two of their ten away) and it’s hard to imagine them keeping a clean sheet here. Especially when we consider the fact that Swindon have scored seven goals in their last five at home, failing to score in just one of those. At the same time, Fleetwood have scored six times in their last five on the road and will fancy their chances of finding the net here.

On paper this probably isn’t the easiest fixture to call, but it is one where each of these sides should be capable of registering at least once on the score-sheet.
