Saddlers improving

Walsall are one of League Two’s form side coming into this weekend with only third-placed Northampton taking more points than their 11 from the last five games. Two wins from their last three games have moved Walsall up to 14th now just three points behind Harrogate who occupy the last play-off place.

Walsall extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to eight games with a victory over King’s Lynn in the FA Cup before losing 2-0 to league leaders Forest Green in the EFL Trophy in midweek.

Away side out of form

Moving in the other direction are Harrogate who lost just one of their first 11 league games but have lost three of the four since and find themselves in the play-off places only on goal difference.

They advanced to the next round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over non-league Wrexham but were well beaten by Sheffield Wednesday, 4-0, in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.

Harrogate have lost to both Bristol Rovers and Colchester, two sides below Walsall, in recent weeks and that is why we are favouring a Walsall win here. They are two teams who know where the net is but with Walsall in great from I’m backing them to edge this 2-1.
