Wolverhampton vs Coventry Predictions

  • Wolves have won four of their last five competitive games.
  • Coventry have only won two of their last five matches.

Coventry face tough test

Coventry have enjoyed a relatively favourable run in the FA Cup so far but the odds are stacked against them as they travel to Molineux on Saturday afternoon.

The Sky Blues’ only away game in the current FA Cup campaign resulted in a draw against fellow Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday and they come up against a side that have already eliminated two Premier League clubs and seen off arch-rivals West Brom.

Wolves on the prowl

Wolves aren’t just enjoying cup success, either. Their 2-1 win over Fulham last weekend leaves them ninth in the top-flight table and it was their fourth win in their last five matches.

Gary O’Neill’s side have picked up some excellent results at Molineux this season, too, beating the likes of Manchester City, Spurs and Chelsea in a 14-game sequence which has yielded eight wins, four draws and just two defeats.

Home side set for success

With the play-off chasing Coventry only winning two of their last six away games and Wolves in fantastic form, I’m backing the favourites to get the win and 2-1 correct score also appeals.

Wolves have won by this scoreline in two of their last five matches and two of Coventry’s last five on the road have also ended in 2-1 defeats.
