      Wolverhampton vs Huddersfield Predictions

Wolves were dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League table before the international break after their composed return to the top flight took a turn for the worse. They went into their match at the Emirates having lost their last 3 games, but the 1-1 draw they claimed at Arsenal will have boosted their confidence a bit.

Despite this 4 match winless run, Wolves don’t look in much danger of joining their fellow newly promoted sides in the relegation battle. They have 16 points from their 12 games so far and sit 8 points clear of the bottom 3. They have also faced Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester United, and Manchester City already, leaving them with a relatively favourable fixture list between now and Christmas.

Huddersfield can’t boast the same optimistic outlook, although after beating Fulham and drawing with West Ham they are looking in a significantly better position than they were at the end of October.

Despite this recent 4 point haul, The Terriers are still down in 19th position though. They are a point adrift of safety as they battle against a severe case of Second Season Syndrome, and they will be sorely hoping that their first win of the season against Fulham can provide a building block for the team.

Their chances of winning on Sunday doesn’t look particularly good though. Their last away victory in the Premier League came back in February against the now-Championship side West Brom. That is one of just 3 away wins since their return to the top flight, and Wolves aren’t the easiest of sides to beat.

One thing we’re not expecting is a goal fest. Wolves have seen fewer than 3 goals scored in 10 of their 12 league matches so far, and Huddersfield have netted a Premier League low 6 goals in their 12 games so far. 8 of the Terriers’ league outings have been low scoring affairs, and they haven’t scored more than once in any of their last 22 Premier League games.

During this 22 match period they have scored a grand total of 9 goals, and with Wolves only scoring 12 so far this season, we think backing Under 2.5 Goals along with a 1-0 win for the hosts looks the best option here.
