      Wolves vs Slovan Bratislava Predictions

Wolves may be finding it tough to live up to the hype in the Premier League right now, but their Europa League form remains promising as they search for passage through to the knockout rounds.

After a perfect qualifying campaign the Midlands side stumbled to a 1-0 defeat at home to Sporting Braga in their group stage opener, but since then things have improved. They beat Besiktas in Turkey before coming from a goal behind to beat Slovan Bratislava away from home. Now, heading into the second half of the group stage campaign, they will be hoping to steal the top spot off Braga.

That hunt for the lead will come secondary to the fact that a win on Thursday would all but cement their place in the latter stages of the Europa League. They are currently two points clear of 3rd place Slovan Bratislava, but a win would put them five points clear with just two games remaining.

The visitors haven’t been too bad in the Europa League, but history is not on their side. They have won just one of their last 15 group stage games, and their defeat at home to Thursday’s opponents doesn’t bode well for them.

What we can expect is some goals at Molineux. Including qualifying, six of Wolves’ nine Europa League matches this season have seen at least three goals scored. Slovan Bratislava hold the same record of six high scoring matches from nine Europa League games, and their three group stage outings have seen a huge 13 goals scored so far. For this reason, backing Over 2.5 Goals looks a solid bet.

Slovan Bratislava have managed to find the net in each of their three group games so far, but the other end of the pitch is a real concern. They have conceded exactly twice in all three of these matches, and after their 2-1 defeat at home to Wolves we think a repeat of that scoreline could be a winning choice.
