Brighton to Win

Reason for tip

Brighton have found it difficult to string more than a couple of good results together, but they should have enough to see off Everton, who have taken just one point form their last four away games.

Brighton 3-1

Reason for tip

Both teams tend to score in matches at the Amex Stadium and the home side will be confident they can make hay having hit five past Sheffield United on Sunday and four in their last home game against Crystal Palace.

Danny Welbeck To Score Anytime

Brighton vs Everton Predictions

  • Everton have not won any of their last eight Premier League matches.
  • Both teams have scored in 11 of Brighton’s last 12 home league games.
  • Everton have gained one point in their last four away matches.

Seagulls look geared to gain revenge

Everton caused one of the biggest surprises of last season when they posted a 5-1 win at Brighton in the depths of their relegation battle, but their recent away form suggests they are highly unlikely to replicate that success.

The Toffees dragged themselves out of the relegation zone with a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace on Monday but they needed a late goal to get that point against the then managerless Eagles and their poor recent form on their travels does little to encourage confidence.

They have taken just one point from their last four away games and the memories of their consecutive victories before Christmas at West Ham, Palace, Nottingham forest and Burnley seem distance.

So Brighton should be able to build on their 5-0 success at Sheffield United on Sunday by winning two successive premier League games for the first time since September, especially as West Ham have been the only visiting team to have left the Amex with a full return this season.

Everton could still make their mark

Their victory at Bramall Lane would perhaps not have been so clear-cut had Blades defender Mason Holgate not got sent off in the opening 15 minutes, but Roberto De Zerbi’s team will also take plenty of confidence from the 4-1 win they posted over Palace in their last home game.

A recent goalless draw against Wolves has been the only occasion in the league this season that both teams have not scored at the Amex and with Everton having to be positive due to their league position and perhaps encouraged by their performance their last term, there is potential for the Toffees to find the net even if they don’t have enough to take any points, so a 3-1 home success may be of interest to those looking for a correct-score bet.

Welbeck looks set to shine

De Zerbi tends to shuffle his the players who occupy the Seagulls forward line and former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has been in the box seat for three of their last four starts.

he is likely to add as the focal point for what Brighton offer in attack and his confidence levels should be high after he ended a six-match scoreless streak at Bramall Lane, so he can reward those backing him to score at any time.
