Kilmarnock vs Partick Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Kilmarnock gave themselves a boost in their quest for a top half finish last weekend with a 2-1 win at Ross County, leaving them 7th in the table but just two points adrift of a top six spot in the Scottish Premiership.

This victory made it three wins, two draws, and two defeats in their last seven outings in the Scottish Premiership, although only one of those victories has come at Rugby Park. At home they have won one and lost four of their last five matches.

Partick were in an excellent run of form up until a couple of weeks ago, when a 1-0 defeat at Aberdeen ended their four match winning streak. They have since followed this up with a 1-1 draw at home to Inverness CT.

This leaves the visitors 6th in the table, so they know that a defeat on Saturday would see them drop out of the top half of the table. However, a win would see them go at least three points clear inside that safe zone, although their chances of catching St Johnstone seven points above them are fairly slim.

Considering their status in the top flight, Partick’s away form is looking pretty decent. They have won three, drawn three, and lost three of their last nine trips away. All three of these defeats have come against either Celtic or Aberdeen as well, so I think they will be very difficult to beat on Saturday.

This is largely thanks to some excellent defensive displays recently. They have conceded just three goals in their last six away days, and they’re facing a Kilmarnock side who have averaged just one goal per game on home soil this season. I think Partick have an excellent chance of winning this match considering Kilmarnock’s recent home form, so I’m backing that at 11/10 alongside a 1-0 correct score predictions at 11/2.
