Toulouse vs Bordeaux Predictions

Bordeaux had been on a run of six matches unbeaten before their defeat with PSG last week but les Girondins done well to keep the score down despite the constant pressure from the champions. Bordeaux offered almost nothing going forward but this hasn’t been a common trait for les Girondins recently as they had scored ten goals in the five matches prior to their meeting with Paris.

Bordeaux currently sit 7th with twelve points and they have been the source for exciting matches this season as they have seen both teams score in five of their eight games so far. Bordeaux have been very clinical going forward but their defence has let them down with them keeping just two clean sheets this season and conceding to the likes of Amiens who were the lowest scorers outside of the relegation season last year. 

Toulouse have been in some pretty soggy form ever since their win over Amiens. They are winless in their last four games with poor results coming against Saint-Étienne (2-2) and Nîmes  (0-1) along the way. Alain Casanova’s men scored in the 96th minute to draw with Metz in their last match but they didn’t really deserve the point as Toulouse had just 16% of the chances.

Les Violets have done okay in attack this season with six goals in their last five games but their defence has been really awful this season. They have conceded twelve goals in their last eight matches and have the worst xGA stats in the league with chances conceded amounting to 14.10. The only highlight for Toulouse ahead of this game is that their home form has been slightly better than their form on the road. They have won two of their last three matches at the Stadium Municipal with clean sheets in each of the victories. 

Both of these teams are pretty good going forward but their defences have held them back. Bordeaux have seen both teams score in many of their matches this season and with this market winning in each of the last three clashes between these sides we’re backing it for this game. We’re also going to back Bordeaux to win this match 2-1 as les Girondins have won two of their last three away days and are in better form than this Toulouse side winless in their last four.
