FST’s team of football tipsters strive to unearth the value in every fixture they cover but some games naturally offer more value than others. That’s where the star ratings on our football predictions come in.

Our three-star tips are reserved only for our absolute favourite picks, so it makes sense to combine all of these into one accumulator. That’s exactly what we’ve done this Saturday, building a massive 75/1 acca covering our top-seven choices.

Last Sunday’s three-star tips yielded a healthy 4.2 units of profit from the five selections. Finger’s crossed we can take that extra step this weekend!

75/1 Star-Struck Accumulator

Manchester City vs Southampton (Premier League, 15:00)

Best bet – Manchester City over 2.5 team goals

Manchester hasn’t exactly been Southampton’s favourite place in recent times and they head to the Etihad on Saturday having conceded 14 goals in their last two trips to the city. Five of these came at Manchester City, and that’s certainly not the only time Pep Guardiola’s side have been in free-scoring form.

Much was made of their failure to sign a striker in the summer but the Citizens come into this game having scored 14 goals in their last four games. Their most recent – a 6-3 mauling of RB Leipzig in midweek – made it four competitive home games on the bounce in which they have scored at least five.

Fulham vs Reading (Championship, 15:00)

Best bet – Fulham -1 handicap

Reading may have put in a couple of decent home displays but they are a different beast away from home, losing all three trips this season and conceding nine times in the process. It’s not the best time for them to be facing the favourites for the Championship title.

Fulham have won four of their last five matches by at least a two-goal margin and they shouldn’t have too many problems putting a few past a Reading side that have conceded three or more on four separate occasions this season.

QPR vs Bristol City (Championship, 15:00)

Best bet – Both teams to score

QPR’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end in midweek and they now face a Bristol City side unbeaten in their last three. QPR should have enough to bounce back, but it won’t be an easy ride for the hosts.

They have conceded four goals in their last two games and face a Robins side that have netted eight goals in their four competitive away games this season. Both teams have scored in all four of these, so expect goals at both ends.

Lens vs Lille (Ligue 1, 16:00)

Best bet – Both teams to score

Ligue 1 hasn’t always been known for its goals but this has the making of a cracker, with these sides ten combined league fixtures this season totalling a massive 35 goals.

There have been goals at both ends in eight of these ties, with both Lens and Lille seeing a clean sheet in just one of their Ligue 1 outings so far.

Aston Villa vs Everton (Premier League, 17:30)

Best bet – Both teams to score

It’s set to be an evening of goals across Europe and the Premier League’s 5:30pm kick-off is no exception. Aston Villa have scored in four of their five competitive games this season but they have conceded three goals in two of these matches and they’re coming up against a dangerous Everton on Saturday.

The Toffees have won four of their five fixtures this season and scored an impressive 12 goals in the process, although defensively there is plenty of work to be done. Both teams have scored in all-but-one of their outings this term, and the same is expected at Villa Park.

Salernitana vs Atalanta (Serie A, 19:45)

Best bet – Over 3.5 goals

Atalanta’s goalscoring record is well-known by now and they could make merry on Saturday as they face a Salernitana defence that have shipped 11 goals in their last three matches.

The visitors have been Italy’s leading scorers for the last three years, scoring a total of over 250 league goals in that period. It doesn’t look like good news for the home side, but they can at least take solace in Atalanta conceding in three of their four competitive outings this season. Expect goals in Salerno.

St Etienne vs Bordeaux (Ligue 1 (20:00)

Best bet – Both teams to score

Another neutral-friendly match in France is expected to round off Saturday’s action as Bordeaux travel to a St Etienne side that have seen both teams score in four of their five Ligue 1 matches this season.

Bordeaux have an identical record when it comes to both teams finding the net and with these sides conceding 21 goals in their ten combined matches it could be a day to forget for the defenders.
