ADO Den Haag vs Fortuna Sittard Predictions

  • Fortuna Sittard have failed to score in 54% of their away games this season
  • Under 2.5 Goals has landed in 69% of ADO Den Haag’s home games this season
  • ADO Den Haag have failed to score in 46% of their home games this season

Home side struggle in front of goal

Home is usually a happy hunting ground for most teams however the same can’t be said for Alan Pardew’s men. He tried to rejuvenate the Dutch outfit with some British signings in January however they haven’t exactly gone to plan. He signed former Grimsby Town goal machine Omar Bogle to help alleviate the pressures and to bring some goals to the side however like his spells since that time at Grimsby he has flattered to deceive. His excellent form earned him a move to Wigan and since then has gone on to score 13 goals in 72 appearances before Pardew came calling.

Since joining the Dutch side Omar has scored just once, in a 2-2 away draw against Heerenveen in 5 appearances for the club. These goalscoring woes extend across the team, ADO Den Haag have failed to score in 46% of their home games this season, and they average 0.85 goals per game at home this season.

Fortuna not in tune away from home

If you thought the home side had problems then the away side are struggling even worse. They have failed to win away from home this season in 13 attempts and have drawn 4 meaning they average just 0.31 points per game on their travels and when you look into their goal statistics it’s not hard to see why. Fortuna have scored just 7 goals in 13 away games this season and concede bucket loads, to the tune of 2.69 goals against per game. That defensive record is unsustainable even for Manchester City, never mind a side with a dreadful goalscoring record.

Drab affair on the cards

If you’ve read the former paragraphs you won’t be surprised to see i don’t have a high expectation for goals in this clash and the statistics generally back this up. At home ADO Den Haag have seen Over 2.5 match goals land in just 31% of their games this season. Fortuna’s away games have seen Over 2.5 match goals land in 62% of their games, however, that’s due to the home sides racking them up, rather than Fortuna chipping into the tally.

Fortuna have failed to score in 54% of their away games this season and when you see they have only scored twice in one league game this season, coupled up with the fact ADO Den Haag have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 home games then backing under 2.5 goals at a shade over even money looks a very sensible bet in this one. Both sides are as bad as each other here however Fortuna do hold a 7 point advantage of their rivals and it would not surprise me to see them play for the draw here and for that reason, the 0-0 draw looks the best play in this one.
