Atletico Madrid To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Atletico Madrid have had a strong start to the season and they should keep a clean sheet against Valencia, who have taken just one point from their four La Liga games so far.

Atletico Madrid 2-0

Reason for tip

Atletico have lost just two home league games since January 2023 and it is difficult to see Valencia making much of an impression, so take Diego Simeone’s team to secure a 2-0 victory.

Atletico Madrid vs Valencia Predictions

  • Valencia have lost five of their last seven La Liga matches
  • Atletico have lost just two of their last 32 home league games
  • Valencia have been defeated in seven of their last ten league away outings

Simeone’s Atletico look too strong

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone will be satisfied with the start his team have made to the new La Liga season and they should extend their unbeaten run to five matches by claiming a comfortable win over Valencia.

Atleti have claimed impressive victories over last year’s surprise package Girona and at Athletic Bilbao, which is always a tough place to go and while they were frustrated in a goalless draw against Espanyol in their last home game, the fact they had 17 attempts on goal illustrates just how much they dominated that fixture.

Consequently, it should not be regarded as a huge setback and it is little surprise to see them hot favourites to see off Valencia, who have lacked punch so far this term.

Valencia struggling in the final third

The visitors have claimed just one point from their first four fixtures, which came in a 1-1 draw against Villarreal and it is difficult to see them troubling the Atleti defence a great deal.

Los Ches have claimed just two away wins in their last ten away league games, and one of those was against Granada, who finished bottom of the table last season.

They lost 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao in their last away game but they produced just one effort on goal in that game, so take the home team to claim a victory without conceding with a 2-0 Atleti success potential of interest to correct-score punters.
