Blackburn Rovers vs Bristol City Predictions
Both clubs are just a point shy of guaranteeing their mathematical safety so a draw here would ensure the pair will be in this league again next year although they will both stay up in any case provided MK Dons don’t win all of their remaining games. Blackburn have been really struggling over the past month. They’ve picked up just 2 points from their last 5 league matches but picked up a solid 1-1 draw away at Nottingham Forest in midweek. They’ve lost their last 3 at home though so don’t seem to be enjoying playing at Ewood right now and those 3 defeats were all against sides in mid-table or below.
Bristol City by contrast come into this in positive mood having pulled themselves clear of danger with relative ease in the end. They lost 3-2 at home to Derby in midweek but have seemed much more like the side that steam-rolled their way through League One last season and they’ve been scoring plenty of goals of late. Their away form has also been excellent for a side in the relegation scrap. They’ve won 4 of their last 7 away matches in the league and with Blackburn not looking in good shape, will see this as a good opportunity to pick up another win on their travels.
Both teams have scored in all of Bristol City’s last 4 matches so they’ve been a good watch of late and they are playing with confidence but do still look a bit vulnerable at the back. Blackburn aren’t the best side to take advantage of that although they had scored at least once in 7 consecutive home games prior to a 2-0 defeat against Huddersfield last time out on their own patch. Therefore we could well see goals at both ends but the visitors are looking the better side right now and backing Bristol City to win 2-1 at 10/1 looks to offer value.
