Brighton vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • Over 2.5 goals has landed in ten of Bournemouth’s 11 away games this season.
  • Each of the last five meetings between these sides have featured three or more goals.

Seagulls set to soar on south coast

Brighton felled Manchester United in the FA Cup third round last weekend, and the Seagulls look primed for another high-scoring win against south-coast rivals Bournemouth on Monday evening.

That victory at Old Trafford extended their unbeaten run to four matches and they have lost just one of their ten Premier League home fixtures this season, scoring 18 goals in the process.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Vitality Stadium in September, but Bournemouth’s form has dropped off a cliff since then and the scoreline could be reversed at the Amex on Monday.

Bournemouth struggle to rediscover form

The Cherries were knocked out of the cup by Newcastle last time out and have won just one of their 13 games since the beginning of November.

That being said, Andoni Iraola’s side do know how to find the net, and the result of their downturn in form has been plenty of high-scoring affairs.

A massive 33 goals have been scored across their last seven games, six of which have featured three or more goals. Ten of their 11 away games this season have seen over 2.5 goals land, as have each of their last five meetings with Brighton.

Backing over 2.5 goals is the way to go, along with a 2-1 win for Brighton. 2-1 has been the final scoreline in each of the last three head-to-head encounters, with the Seagulls being the winning side in two of those, while the hosts have scored exactly twice in three of their last four outings.
