Everton to Win and Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Everton have taken more points on the road than they have at home in the Premier League this season and the Toffees could cash in at the Amex with another three points. David Moyes’ men have won their last two encounters with the Seagulls without conceding and they could prevail in another cagey encounter.

Everton 1-0

Reason for tip

Brighton have won just one of their last ten league matches and they have failed to score in their last two meetings with Everton who are fancied to nick a 1-0 win on Saturday. None of Brighton’s last four matches have featured more than two goals and the floodgates are unlikely to open this week.

Thierno Barry To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Thierno Barry has had to be patient since his move to Everton but the goals are starting to flow for the French forward who can continue his hot streak for the Toffees at Brighton. Barry has bagged five goals this term, but four of those have come in the last month, including four in his last six outings.

Brighton vs Everton Predictions

  • Brighton have won just one of their last ten league matches.
  • Everton have taken more points away from home in the Premier League this term.
  • Thierno Barry has bagged four goals in his last six outings.

Toffees love a road trip

A new stadium was expected to give Everton a new lease of life but things at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium haven’t quite gone accordingly to plan, and the Toffees have performed better away from their new base than they have at home this term.

David Moyes’ men have taken 17 points on their travels this term, in contrast to 16 at home, but we predict that the Merseysiders could increase that total with a victory at Brighton on Saturday.

Everton drew 1-1 at home to Leeds on Monday, but prior to that they won 1-0 at third-placed Aston Villa to follow victories at Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Manchester United and Wolves this term.

And there could be more to come as they taken on a beleaguered Brighton side struggling to string any kind of a run together.

The Seagulls start the weekend in a comfortable 12th place, three points behind Everton who are tenth, but the south-coast side have steadily slid down the table on the back of just one win in ten league matches.

Their last two meetings with Everton have been lost without even a goal in response, and another narrow victory for the Toffees is our prediction.

Goals unlikely to flow

Everton have won 2-0 and 1-0 in their previous two match-ups with Brighton and we expect a similar outcome on Saturday.

Four of the last five head to heads between these sides have seen no more than two goals scored and Everton will look to keep things tight again this week.

David Moyes’ priority will be to limit chances for the home side and his methods have been successful recently with the Blues keeping clean sheets in five of their last league matches away from home.

Everton won 1-0 at Aston Villa last time out away from Merseyside and that looks a solid option for correct-score purposes.

Barry starting to find his feet

Thierno Barry had to wait until December 6 to bag his first goal for Everton following his switch from Villarreal last summer but the belief is starting to flow since he broke his duck and he should be backed to get on the scoresheet at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

The French forward rescued a point late on in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Leeds on Monday and the goal continued a hot streak which has yielded a total of six goals so far this term.

Four of those have come in Barry’s last six outings for the Blues and that run includes the winning goal at Aston Villa and a decisive second for the Toffees in the closing stages of the win at Nottingham Forest.

Barry is starting to look a genuine threat and we predict another key goal for the in-form Everton striker.
