Cagliari vs Fiorentina Predictions
Cagliari picked up a win at the San Siro last weekend, and now they have another big test against Fiorentina. The visitors don’t have much of an away record this season, but they did pick up a victory in midweek. Could their 3-1 win away in the Europa League be the kick start they need in a pretty poor season?
While they finally got three points on the board away, that did come against a side who are just outside the relegation zone in the Czech league. It’s not exactly the big scalp they need after a terrible run. They’ve lost 67% of their away games so far, and their away record against Cagliari is nothing special. They’ve taken just 11% of their points tally away from home, so it’s hard to see them doing much away.
Despite that poor run, the hosts are pretty big odds to take the win here. Cagliari have four wins in their last five, and they’ve yet to lose a game at home this term. Considering how the visitors are playing, you should be very tempted by the hosts on the draw no bet market. They’re priced at 6/5 to take the win, with an added safety net if Fiorentina claim a second away point of the season.
One thing you can say about Fiorentina’s away displays is that they’re at least entertaining. They’ve conceded two goals in each of their last three matches outside of their own stadium. The fact that they conceded against Slovan Liberec on Thursday says a lot about their defence. They have managed to score in their last four on the road, averaging 1.33 per game in their three trips this term.
Cagliari’s matches have been packed with goals too. This season, 100% of their games have seen three goals or more scored. Their last nine in Serie A have seen over 2.5 goals, a run which stretches back to the end of last term. Fiorentina have also seen over 2.5 goals in their last four away, mostly because they can’t stop conceding on the road.
While La Viola have a strong home record defensively, they’ve let in 100% of the goals they’ve conceded in away games. They’ve also scored 67% of their goals this campaign on their travels. That means we’re expecting goals this weekend, seeing as Cagliari have scored two or more in their last five matches at Stadio Sant’Elia. We’re backing over 2.5 goals at evens with bet365. Considering their stats, that seems like a pretty big price here.
