      Charlton to Win

      Reason for tip

Charlton have had a dream start to the Championship campaign with two wins from two matches and last weekend’s 2-1 victory at London rivals West Ham is one that will live long in the memory. They can make the most of home advantage against Preston, who have lost their last three matches.

      Charlton 2-1

      Reason for tip

Charlton are fancied to make it three wins on the spin in the Championship and they have won their last two league games at The Valley 2-1. Preston are short on confidence and may struggle.

      Addicks can maintain perfect start

Charlton have had a dream start to the Championship campaign with two wins from two matches and last weekend’s 2-1 victory at London rivals West Ham is one that will live long in the memory.

The Addicks were crushed 5-1 by Tottenham in the second round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday but, while the Premier League big spenders fielded a strong side, Nathan Jones made ten changes from the side that won so impressively at the London Stadium.

That shows that keeping the feelgood factor going in the Championship is of more importance and it is a decision that could enable them to maintain their perfect start.

Charlton won 2-1 at home to Derby in their Championship opener and this may be a good time to be entertaining Preston, who have a stretched squad and need reinforcements having seen key players such as Ben Whiteman and Milutin Osmajic depart.

That has told in the opening weeks of the season. Preston have lost their first two league games, going down 2-1 at Bolton and 3-1 at home to Wolves, and were readily outclassed in a 4-0 defeat by Everton in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

So Charlton can make it three on the spin and they have won their last two league games at The Valley 2-1.
