Don’t expect fireworks at Derby

Derby and Swansea meet in the Championship on Saturday and goals may be at a premium when two of the league’s lowest scorers face off.

Derby have somehow managed to claw their ways back into survival contention despite being hit with a 12-point deduction, but goals remain an issue and they’ve managed just seven goals in 10 games despite the fact they now sit on plus points with one.

It has been a similar story for Swansea, who have managed to amass 10 points from just nine goals.  

The Rams boast the joint second-best defence in the league with just eight goals conceded so far.  Swansea’s backline has been less impressive with 14 goals against them so far but they have also managed clean sheets in half of their games and it tends to be a case of when one goes in the floodgates open as they’ve shipped three goals in four of their outings.

Given both side’s struggles in attack under 2.5 goals immediately jumps out as the best bet here, and defences may well come out on top too with a 0-0 draw my pick in the correct score market as Derby have already played out two goalless draws this season and Swansea have had three.
