Sky Blues to maintain title advantage

Coventry City have a nine-point cushion heading into week 40 of the Championship season and they should move one step closer to promotion.

The Sky Blues are three wins ahead of Middlesbrough, but they have already endured one or two mid-season wobbles and will look to put their foot down in the next few weeks.

Opponents, Derby will be no pushovers, with the Rams on the cusp of the playoffs in eighth and only three points behind sixth-placed Southampton.

Coventry have won seven of their last eight matches in the second tier and look to have steadied the ship and they should be able to overpower John Eustace’s side.

While Derby have won four of their last five games, three of those wins came against teams fighting to stay in the division in Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers.

Away from home, Derby have lost three of their last four games and while their recent form suggests they can find the back of the net, it is tough to see them leaving Coventry with any points.
