      Bolton to Win

      Reason for tip

Bolton will need to perform better than they did at QPR last week, but the Trotters are back at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and a home contest against Lincoln rates a major step down in difficulty.

      Bolton 3-1

      Reason for tip

Bolton have lost only one of their last 11 matches against Lincoln and the Trotters are fancied to edge a high-scoring contest. The Imps have seen 15 goals scored in their opening four matches of the season and the goals could flow again.

      Bolton vs Lincoln City Predictions

      • There have been 15 goals in Lincoln’s opening four matches this season
      • Both teams have scored in all of Lincoln’s first four games
      • Bolton have lost only one of their last 11 matches against Lincoln

      Trotters can gallop to success

Bolton will be targeting three points from a home contest with Lincoln on Saturday as the promoted duo do battle at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

The Trotters have taken four points from their opening two Championship matches after beating Preston 2-1 and taking a point in a 0-0 draw at QPR.

The Whites were pretty fortunate to get a point from their visit to Loftus Road last weekend and Steven Schumacher’s men will need to perform better than they did in west London.

Bolton lost the shot count 18-2 and created an expected goals figure of only 0.19 in the 0-0 draw at QPR and the xG number was the lowest across the entire football league last weekend.

Better is expected back at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and Lincoln have been beaten by Middlesbrough and Portsmouth in the Championship this term.

The Imps were clearly second best when losing 2-1 at Middlesbrough in their opening second-tier fixture, and while they performed far better when losing 3-1 at home to Portsmouth, it already looks likely to be a season of struggles for Chris Cohen & Tom Shaw’s men.

Bolton are fancied to come out on top in this spot.
