FC Oss vs FC Den Bosch Predictions

6th placed Oss entertain 5th placed Den Bosch at Frans Heesen Stadion this Friday, as both sides seek to establish themselves in the Play-off places. With the hosts boasting the second best defence in the league and the visitors riding high after three consecutive wins, everything looks set for a fascinating encounter here on match day ten.

Den Bosch moved into the Play-off spots last week with a slender 1-0 victory over bottom side Dordrecht, as Juventus loanee Stefano Beltrame bagged his fourth goal of the campaign. It was an unconvincing success for Wil Boessen’s men at Stadion de Vliert, but one which ultimately continued their momentum after a 3-1 home victory against Jong AZ on match day seven and a fine 0-3 win at MVV on match day eight.

The Blue White Dragons head into this Friday’s game at Frans Heesen Stadion brimming with confidence and in search of their fourth away triumph of the season having racked up an impressive nine points from 12 on the road thus far.

Whilst it’s perhaps too early to suggest that Den Bosch can nail down a Play-off place this season, their results to date certainly indicate that they’re a much improved outfit from last term where they eventually finished a disappointing 11th and 17 points shy of the top five.

It’s important to note though that Den Bosch’s winning streak has been amassed against sides currently placed 16th, 10th and 20th in the table, so they’ll have to step up this Friday against an Oss side that’s conceded just seven goals in nine league outings.

Similarly to Den Bosch, Oss appear to have improved significantly over the summer after a 15th place finish in 2017/18, and at present they’re one of the toughest teams to break down in the division.

TOP’s results have tapered off slightly in the past few weeks after they won three of their first four league matches (including a 1-2 success at 4th placed Twente), but they’ve managed to keep three clean sheets in their last half dozen Eerste Divisie fixtures and that’s an impressive stat in this traditionally high scoring league.

Interestingly, they’ve conceded five of their seven goals at home where they typically force the issue more and that is a good sign for this Den Bosch team who’ve netted seven goals in their last three games.

The last three Eerste Divisie encounters between this pair have finished 1-1, but we can’t see a similar result here with both teams likely to go for it to ensure they’re in the top five come the end of the weekend.

This should be one of the best games on match day ten and one that could shape the rest of the season for both sides in terms of their possible Play-off credentials.

As the outsiders at decent odds, Den Bosch offer the value here based on their recent form and impressive away points tally. Oss will clearly be a tough nut to crack, but they’ve been solid rather than spectacular over the past few weeks and make little appeal as favourites. With that in mind, it’s 1-2 for us this Friday in favour of Wil Boessen’s side.
