Basel to start with a win

Grasshoppers come into the new Super League season as reigning champions of the Challenge League as they return to the top division once more. Their second division win came by just one point but some really poor form meant that was a lot closer than it should’ve been. The side have lost all four of their pre-season games, including a 1-0 loss to their opponents this weekend.

Basel finished second in the top division last season but were blitzed to the title, finishing 31 points behind Young Boys. They’ve started the new season well with a 3-0 win over Partizani in the Europa Conference League qualifiers and they’ve averaged just under two goals a game in their pre-season campaign.

It’s hard to see Grasshoppers getting their first season back in the top division started with a win and with Basel currently being priced at 4/5, we’re backing the away side to come away with all three points. Basel have looked in good goalscoring form in pre-season and their win in Europe should be a good indicator of the standard they have within their ranks. We’re forecasting a 3-0 win for the visitors as they look to reclaim their championship for the first time in five years.
