Houston Dynamo vs New England Revolution Predictions

New Engladn Revolution have retained a potent line up of attacking players for this season, with the creative force that is Lee Nguyen being the main man. He is 28 at the moment, and showed a dramatic improvement last season that he will be hoping to continue in 2016.

Their 5th place finish in the MLS Eastern Conference isn’t as bad as it first looks either, as they were only ten points adrift of the Supporters Shield Champions New York Red Bulls in the end. They are a much better team than their finishing position last term suggests, and I’m expecting a big season for them this year.

Houston Dynamo struggled along last season with Owen Coyle in charge, and they eventually finished 8th in the Western Conference and were nine points adrift of qualifying for the playoffs.

The Scottish manager remains in charge, and the off season has seen a major shift in their midfield department, with veteran captain Brad Davis leaving the club and being replaced with Christian Maidana.

Maidana was excellent for the lowly Philadelphia Union last season, and he’s expected to better his 15 assists from last season. However, with all the creative burden on his shoulders he will need to gel with the rest of the squad quickly in order to get Houston Dynamo’s season off to a good start.

The attacking talent that’s on show in this one should lead to a high scoring match. New England Revolution are a very good side, but Houston Dynamo were impressive on home turf last season. Odds of 19/20 for Over 2.5 Goals look very good value, and I’m backing a 2-2 draw at 11/1 too.
