Depleted Parma to struggle on the road

Parma’s punishment for finishing 13th in Serie A last season was to see their best talent sold in the summer and they should struggle on the road in Turin when they take on Juventus this weekend.

Juventus started the season with a 1-0 win over Frosinone last weekend and they will look to build on that as they look to recover from last season’s disappointing sixth-placed finish.

Luciano Spalletti has been able to add Lois Openda, Randal Kolo Muani, Kerim Alajbegovic, Jhon Lucumi, Jeff Ekhator and Jeremie Boga to his squad, while Parma coach Carlos Cuesta has waved goodbye to his best players in recent weeks.

Zion Suzuki, Mateo Pellegrino and Alessandro Circati have all been snapped up and Parma should struggle until their new signings settle in.

Parma may have won six of their 19 away games last year, but they only scored 12 goals on the road and they lost both of their games against Juventus.

Juve scored six goals in their two meetings against Parma, but with Spalletti’s squad still adapting to the new arrivals, they will settle for three points in a low-scoring game.
