Tip Reasoning

  • There have been goals at both ends in five of Leicester’s last seven home games.
  • Only Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City have managed to keep clean sheets at the King Power this term.
  • Both teams to score has been a winning bet in six of Brentford’s last nine trips.
  • Leicester won the reverse fixture 2-1.

Improving Brentford face Leicester test

Leicester and Brentford meet at the King Power Stadium on Saturday with just three points separating these two sides in the Premier League table.

The Bees looked in danger of dropping back down to the Championship not too long ago but they can now start looking upwards after back-to-back wins.

Leicester were in Europa Conference League action on Thursday as they went down 2-1 at Rennes but still managed to progress.

That quick turnaround has put me off backing the Foxes as the main bet, and this clash looks a good candidate for goals at both ends.

Both sides capable of scoring

There have been goals at both ends in five of Leicester’s last seven home games and only Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City have managed to keep clean sheets at the King Power this term.

Both teams to score has been a winning bet in six of Brentford’s last nine trips, and both teams scored in the reverse fixture – a 2-1 win for Leicester.

Home advantage gives Leicester the edge

I was reluctant to back Leicester as the main bet as they played on Thursday and Brentford have won their last two, but it makes sense to back the hosts in the correct score market as they have been in fine form at home of late.

Leicester are unbeaten in five at home and have won their last three, and we may see a repeat 2-1 win for the Foxes when they take on Brentford as the visitors concede on average 1.9 goals-per-game on their travels.

Leicester City predicted starting lineup: Schmeichel, Pereira, Amartey, Soyuncu, Justin, Dewsbury-Hall, Tielemans, Lookman, Maddison, Barnes, Iheanacho

Brentford predicted lineup: Raya, Ajer, Jansson, Pinnock, Henry, Mbuemo, Eriksen, Norgaard, Janelt, Canos, Toney
