Leicester City vs Brentford Predictions

  • Both teams to score was a winning bet in five of Leicester’s final six games of last season.

  • James Maddison ended the 2021/22 campaign with a goal in each of his final four appearances.

Foxes looking for flying start

Leicester and Brentford meet in the Premier League on Sunday in what could be an entertaining affair at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes came in eighth last season and will be hoping to better that this term, although they are yet to make a single summer signing and have seen long-serving keeper Kasper Schmeichel exit for French outfit Nice.

Brentford will be wary of the dreaded ‘second season syndrome’ after a respectable mid-table finish last season as a promoted club. The Bees have lost creative midfielder Christian Eriksen, but the signing of defender Ben Mee from Burnley looks a shrewd capture.

Both teams to score a clear starting point

One market that immediately jumps out is both teams to score as there were goals at both ends in the two Premier League games these sides contested last term, with Leicester claiming a pair of 2-1 wins.

Both teams scored in four of Leicester’s six pre-season assignments and they scored in all of them, while both teams to score was a winning bet in five of their final six league games last term and they scored in all of those.

There were goals at both ends in six of Brentford’s last seven away games last season and they were better going forward away from home, with 26 of their 48 Premier League goals coming on the road, so the visitors should at least be good for a goal on Sunday.

Leicester the more likely winners

Leicester had an impressive home record last season, winning 10 of their 19 games and losing just five, and they will fancy their chances of taking all three points on Sunday.

As both games finished 2-1 to the Foxes last term, a repeat result looks a good option for our correct score bet and a goal for James Maddison appeals.

Maddison scored in both victories over the Bees last term and signed off last season with a goal in each of his final four appearances.
