      Leicester vs Sevilla Predictions

Jamie Vardy’s 73rd minute goal in Spain has given Leicester genuine hope of making it to the Champions League quarter final, but they still trail 2-1 on aggregate and face a tough task getting a win against the seasoned Spanish side.

The Premier League champions followed that defeat up by sacking manager Claudio Ranieri, and despite uproar from the footballing world, the players have actually started performing. They beat Liverpool 3-1 at home and repeated the scoreline again when they hosted Hull. Another one of those would see them overturn their deficit and progress in the competition.

Sevilla have played two more matches than Leicester since that first round clash, with victories over Real Betis and Athletic and back to back draws against Alaves and Leganes making for a rather flat run.

They are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions though, and they have failed to score just once in their last 13 games across the board. They have only kept four clean sheets in that period though.

Leicester’s form may have improved since Ranieri’s departure but defensively they are still struggling. They have conceded in 11 of their last 12 home matches in all competitions, but they have scored in eight of them and after bagging six in their last two games, they will feel confident of finding the back of the net themselves as well.

Away from home Sevilla have shipped 11 goals in their last seven matches and have lost twice during that period. They will feel far from confident in their 2-1 aggregate lead at the moment, especially with Leicester coming into form recently. Not only that but the hosts have had a week extra to rest since their last game.

Odds of 8/13 for Both Teams to Score might look short, but that still looks like the best value bet considering both teams’ weak defences at the moment and the overall magnitude of the clash. I think Leicester have got a decent chance of getting the win as well, so I’m also backing a 2-1 correct score predictions at 10/1.
