Malaga vs Eibar Predictions
Juande Ramos has made a poor start to his time in charge of Malaga. They’ve picked up only 2 points from their opening 4 games and they haven’t had a shockingly difficult set of fixtures so it’s a bit of a concern. They are trying to avoid a 3rd straight defeat here following a 2-0 home loss against Villarreal and 1-0 defeat at Las Palmas in two games where they were largely second best. It’s their failure to beat newly promoted Osasuna at home on the opening day that will worry them the most you’d have thought though and this could be a similar test with Eibar likely to be pretty content with a point.
The Basque minnows have made strong starts to their previous two seasons in La Liga and they look to be doing the same again. They’ve taken 7 points from their last 3 matches coming into this following wins over Granada and Valencia and a home draw with Sevilla at the weekend. They’d have been delighted to pick up a point there in the end given they were 1-0 down and a man down at the interval and finished the game with only 9 men when Dani Garcia received his marching orders late on.
That backs to the wall job suggests there’s plenty of fight about this Eibar side and just enough quality to suggest they can again stay in the division. Right now Malaga just don’t look like a side that are going to win many football matches. They’ve always been tough to break down in the past couple of years but they are yet to keep a clean sheet and haven’t looked that good going forward with their new signings yet to really find their feet.
Given that, there is little temptation to back them when they are as short as 7/10 with some bookies to win this and with the visitors in good form, backing Double Chance – Draw or Eibar at 6/5 looks to offer the best value here.
