Moldova vs Israel Predictions

• Moldova are without a win in their last 18 internationals, losing 15 including an 8-0 thrashing against Denmark on Sunday.
• The hosts have failed to score in all but one of their last nine matches.

Israel to get the job done

Israel are unlikely to challenge for qualification in Group F, but Willibald Ruttensteiner’s men should get their first win on the board in Chisinau this Wednesday.

The visitors have long been a below average UEFA nation in terms of their ability, and they’ve managed to pick up just a single point from their opening two matches against Denmark (0-2) and Scotland (1-1).

They face far weaker opposition here though and anything other than an Israel success would be considered a surprise.

Moldova were smashed 8-0 by Denmark on Sunday and that result alone does enough to highlight their lack of quality. The hosts are only marginally better than the likes of San Marino and Gibraltar and are now without a win in 18 internationals, losing 15.

Roberto Bordin’s men have also failed to net in all but one of their last nine outings, so after their weekend humiliation, a win to nil for Israel appears the most likely scenario.

Israel aren’t blessed with anything like the same guile and firepower of the Danes though, so we do think Moldova can at least keep the margin of defeat down to two goals.
