Newport County vs Crewe Predictions
It’s been a tough start for Newport County with a win and two defeats coming from their opening three fixtures. The fixture list hasn’t been kind for County with trips to two of the title favourites and a home fixture against a tough Mansfield side. Despite this and a reduced wage budget they claimed a confident victory over Leyton Orient and they currently sit in 18th position in the early league table, a position which if you offered them at the end of the season then they would be delighted. County gave league leaders Luton a real test on Tuesday night and were unlucky not to claim anything after giving a pair of second half penalties.
Crewe will be delighted with their start to the season and they will be doing everything in their power to extend their unbeaten record. They started the season with a good away win to Stevenage but, even though they only claimed a pair of draws, the next two results were perhaps more surprising. Portsmouth started the season with the tags of title favourites so for Crewe to take a point for them will be seen as an excellent result. A dramatic 3-3 draw midweek against Hartlepool may be seen as two points lost after Alexandra led 3-1 but with Hartlepool expecting to challenge for the play-offs the point may be seen as an excellent one when the dust settles.
We like the look of an away victory for this one as we believe they have the strength in defence to hold their hosts back. With odds of 9/5 for them to claim the win with bet365 it’s very attractive and maybe should be considered to boost the returns on your accumulators. For the correct score tip we are backing a clean sheet and a confident 2-0 victory for Crewe, this is available at 12/1 with the same site.
