Partick Thistle have finally come to life in the past couple of weeks, picking up back to back victories in the Scottish Premiership to put an end to a somewhat disastrous start to the season.

They won their opening game of the league season, but a midweek exit from the Scottish League Cup set them off on a nine match winless streak in all competitions. They were showing signs of turning it around with draws against Hamilton Academical and Ross County, but their midweek game with Dundee last week finally got them back to winning ways.

Striker Kris Doolan got a goal in this win and added another against St Johnstone at the weekend, so he is the man in form at the moment. Odds of 2/1 for him to find the net again look very reasonably priced, so that’s a backing I’d be very tempted by.

Aberdeen have gone the other way to Partick Thistle. They went into their midweek game last week on the back of a six match winning streak which had also seen them book a place in the League Cup Final. They shockingly lost 1-0 away to Hamilton Academical and then suffered the same scoreline when they hosted Celtic at the weekend.

This has pushed them down to 4th in the Scottish Premiership table, and with them already ten points adrift of Celtic having played a game more than them, their hopes of toppling the champions are already all but over.

Aberdeen struggled in their last away match against a Hamilton Academical side who were struggling to pick up points. The visitors only beat Partick Thistle 2-1 at home earlier this season as well, so with the hosts in such good form I think they’ve got a real chance of extending Aberdeen’s winless streak. Odds of 21/20 for a Partick Thistle Win or Draw Double Chance look very good value, and I’m going for that along with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 6/1.
