Partizan Belgrade vs Feyenoord Predictions

  • Partizan Belgrade’s 21-goal top scorer Ricardo Gomes is suspended.
  • Feyenoord have scored at least two goals in their last five Europa Conference League matches.
  • Feyenoord have won six, drawn four and lost only one of their last 11 away games in all competitions.

Feyenoord to prove too strong for hosts

Feyenoord are likely to prove too strong for Partizan when they travel to Belgrade in the first leg of their Conference League last-16 tie.

Arne Slot’s side are in decent domestic form, having won four of their last six in the Eredivisie, and will head to Serbia in confident mood of setting themselves up for the home second leg. The Dutch giants took four points off Czech league leaders Slavia Prague in the group and will feel well-equipped to handle a Partizan side that was tested by Sparta Prague in the previous round.

The Black-Whites are a formidable force in Serbia this year, although they lost their previously unblemished record in a 2-0 derby defeat to Red Star recently. That loss seemed to shake their confidence a touch in the next match – a 1-0 win over Spartak Subotica that required them to benefit from a controversial VAR review award for an 84th-minute penalty.

Partizan top scorer blow plays into Dutch hands

Although Partizan have lost only three of 14 games in this competition to date, their record in European competitions in the last few seasons hasn’t been so clever.  This should be an opportunity for Feyenoord to establish a first-leg lead against opponents that will also be without their leading scorer Ricardo Gomes, who is suspended.

Feyenoord are a naturally attacking side that could easily continue their five-game run of scoring at least two goals in this competition. The Rotterdam club managed 40 shots on target in their six games that got them to this stage as winners of Group E. They converted 11 of those, to add to the 15 they scored in three rounds of qualifying back in the summer.

Hence we’re backing Feyenoord to win with at least two goals in the game and, because Partizan’s confidence has been eroded, a 2-0 scoreline in correct score betting.
