Neither of these clubs have had a great start, despite the fact that Derby haven’t lost a game. The Rams have drawn with Huddersfield and League Two Salford in the last week, but they remain stuck with a threadbare squad and little in the way of quality due to financial issues.

Meanwhile, Peterborough lost 3-0 to Luton in their Championship opener before a humiliating 4-0 Carabao Cup loss to Plymouth. Despite those two heavy defeats, Posh have arrived at this level with a reputation as a high-scoring side.

Their return home should help matters, especially given that striker Jonson Clarke-Harris scored 20 goals in 23 home league games last term. With Derby conceding four in their opening two, I’m backing Peterborough’s star man to score.

Derby started life under Wayne Rooney as a solid but unspectacular side. However, six of their last seven games have seen both teams score. That includes conceding to a poor Huddersfield side and shipping three to a side two tiers below them.

The hosts have conceded in their last six at home so we’re expecting a high-scoring game to kick-off Saturday’s action. Both teams to score is our first prediction, alongside a 2-1 win for the hosts.
