Plymouth Argyle vs Salford City Predictions
The Class of ’92’s purchase of Salford City has made them one of the most famous club’s in the lower leagues of English football and has brought with it plenty of attention on how the minnows are progressing. This Tuesday evening their credentials will be tested in one of their toughest fixtures of the season as Salford City make the difficult trip to face a Plymouth Argyle side who are bang in form and who know that they need to keep on winning in order to maintain their spot towards the top of the division.
Plymouth Argyle will be delighted with the form that they have shown in the early stages of the season and although they fell to defeat on Saturday afternoon, they will be determined to bounce back as quickly as possible in order to prove their title credentials. The hosts had been almost faultless up until the weekend, but not many sides can go to Rodney Parade and take points from Newport County so they will need to dust themselves down and go again on Tuesday evening.
Making the trip to Home Park is a Salford City side who will probably still be flying high from last season as they managed to earn their spot in the Football League for the first time in their history. However, the visitors need to get their heads out of the clouds as things have not exactly been going well of late. Despite winning on the opening day of the season, City lost against Crawley in the league and Leeds in the cup, and although they stopped the rot with a point against Port Vale at the weekend, they need to put a tick in the win column as soon as possible.
Despite Saturday’s blip, Plymouth have had an excellent start to the season and have won with ease in their matches so far. Home Park will be a difficult place for opposition sides to visit this season and given that Salford are not exactly the form team of the division, it seems unlikely there will be an upset on Tuesday evening. With this in mind, we think that backing a home win represents the best opportunity of a decent return.
