Rangers vs Dundee Betting Tips & Predictions

Rangers look destined to be back in the Scottish Premiership after a longer than anticipated hiatus. They narrowly missed out on promotion last season, but this season find themselves 14 points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship.

They are coming into this match having won 11 of their last 13 matches in all competitions and lost none, and we know from Hearts’ performance in the top flight this season that the top Championship clubs have all the capability to challenge the majority of the Scottish Premiership.

But Dundee won’t be pushovers. The Premiership outfit are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions and managed to fight to an impressive goalless draw at Celtic in midweek. But things aren’t comfortable in the top flight. They may be only three points adrift of 4th place Ross County, but they are also only eight points clear of second from bottom Kilmarnock.

The tightness of the table below the bottom three mean that no team is truly safe from a potential relegation battle. Rangers, on the other hand, will have all their focus on the Scottish Cup thanks to their comfortable lead in the Championship.

I think Rangers have the quality and confidence to see off Dundee at the Ibrox. They have won all but three of their home matches in all competitions this season and have only lost once, meanwhile Dundee have only won one of their last 12 away days and have struggled to three consecutive goalless draws on the road. Dundee also had a real battle with Celtic in midweek that could well have emptied the tank.

This makes odds of 8/13 for a Rangers Win look fair value to me, so that’s what I’m going for alongside a narrow 1-0 correct score prediction at 7/1.
