Rosenborg vs LASK Linz Predictions

Rosenborg have endured a disastrous campaign so far, failing to secure a point and only scoring one goal during a heavy 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven. They have already been eliminated from contention when it comes to qualification and will just be playing for pride when they take on LASK this week. 

The Austrian outfit have been somewhat of a surprise so far this season, currently sitting second in the group ahead of PSV and only two points behind Sporting. The key to their success has been a solid defence, with just three goals conceded so far and this along with a 4-1 win over PSV last time out, have given them the advantage over their Dutch rivals. 

LASK know they face a really tough task in their final group game when they take on Sporting and will be full of motivation to get a result from this game and relieve some of the pressure when they host the Portuguese side in the middle of December. 

Both sides have struggled slightly in front of goal with LASK averaging 1.5 goals per game, a figure skewed by their big win in matchweek four, and Rosenborg finding the net just once. We don’t this changing too much and have predicted the 2.5 goal line to remain untouched with both teams largely cancelling each other out. 

LASK have so much on the line in this game that we think they should just about have enough to find a slender win over their Norwegian opposition. A 1-0 win for LASK looks like it could be a good value find at 7/1 and we’ve predicted this result as we can’t see Rosenborg troubling the LASK defence in what should be a fairly slow paced encounter.
