San Jose Earthquakes vs New England Revolution Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

San Jose Earthquakes narrowly and disappointingly missed out on the MLS playoffs last season as they finished one position outside the top six in the MLS Western Conference. They look set to do the same again this term as well unless they can find some victories.

The hosts come into this game in 7th position with 31 points from their opening 24 games, putting them one point behind Portland Timbers in 6th but with two games in hand on them.

However, San Jose Earthquakes suffered a shock defeat at home to bottom of the table Houston Dynamo at the weekend, ending their five match unbeaten streak and taking their record to two wins, three draws, and two defeats in their last seven outings in the MLS.

New England Revolution aren’t exactly in good form either though. This poor form leaves them outside the MLS Eastern Conference playoff spots, with their 26 point tally leaving them two points adrift of Orlando City and DC United above them. However, both of those teams, along with 5th placed Montreal Impact and the two teams below them, have at least one game in hand on New England Revolution.

Away from home New England Revolution are even worse. They have lost six of their last eight away days in the MLS and have only won once on the road all season. This is thanks to their dismal defence on their travels. The visitors have conceded at least two goals in nine of their 12 away matches this season, and whilst San Jose Earthquakes aren’t the best going forward they will still feel they have a good chance of netting a few against them.
