Hammers defence to come under fire again

It was another dreadful start to the season for West Ham on Saturday as they lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle, but they have a great chance to claim their first win of the season when they take on League One outfit Charlton.

The Addicks got their league campaign off to a winning start as the newly relegated side beat Crewe, and they have now scored six goals in their three competitive matches this term. They may be the underdogs, but they can certainly cause this Hammers defence some problems on Tuesday.

West Ham have all the quality to win this one and are expected to do just that, but at the back the defeat to Newcastle raised some serious concerns. They have now conceded in 19 of their last 20 matches in all competitions and they haven’t kept a clean sheet at the London Stadium since New Year’s Day.

This points towards both teams finding the back of the net, and that’s what we’re opting for here. West Ham should have the quality to progress though, and with Charlton losing 2-1 in two of their last six away games that’s our choice for a correct score prediction.
