Ipswich Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Ipswich have drawn each of their last five games in all competitions and they head to a West Ham side who have kicked off the league campaign with three successive home defeats. The Hammers have picked up just two wins in their last 12 Premier League matches, so take Ipswich to avoid defeat.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Ipswich have drawn each of their last four Premier League games, with all but one seeing both teams score. West Ham have seen two of their last three league games finish 1-1, so back the pair to share the spoils in a low-scoring encounter.

Omari Giraud Hutchinson To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Omari Hutchinson has yet to score for Ipswich this term but the attacking midfielder isn’t afraid to try his luck. He has just one fewer shot on target than their top scorer Liam Delap. The former Chelsea and Arsenal man has recorded a shot on target in four of his six Premier League appearances this season and he should trouble a West Ham side that lacks pace at the back.

West Ham United vs Ipswich Predictions

  • West Ham have lost their first three home league games this season
  • Ipswich are unbeaten across their last four league matches
  • The Tractor Boys have dug in to avoid defeat in their previous two away games
  • The Hammers are without a win in their last five in all competitions

Lopetegui taking a hammering

West Ham drew 1-1 away to Brentford last weekend but that point clearly wasn’t enough for Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard raged at his side being denied a corner before the full-time whistle as they seek to recover from a dreadful start to the campaign.

The Hammers have won one of their opening six league games, while they’ve lost all three of their matches at the London Stadium. Saturday’s clash with promoted side Ipswich could be vital, as the hosts already find themselves at the wrong end of the table.

Tractor Boys motoring along

The visitors are still searching for a first league win of the season, but they’re making good progress. Kieran McKenna’s side have drawn each of their last four games, showing a willingness to play more on the backfoot rather than the adventurous style which brought them promotion.

The Tractor Boys were still aggressive in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa and they should be confident of troubling West Ham. McKenna’s side took the lead at the Etihad in their first league trip, while they’ve dug in to record draws away to Southampton and Brighton.

The visitors also have attacking talent capable of making a difference. Liam Delap scored twice last weekend and he’s their top scorer this term with three goals. However, Omari Hutchinson has just one fewer shot on target than the striker. Hutchinson has worked the goalkeeper in four of his six league starts and he’s a good price to open his account against a West Ham side that looks ill-equipped to deal with his pace.

McKenna’s side can keep hosts at bay

West Ham are winless in five overall, failing to keep a clean sheet in that stretch. The Hammers have also struggled to get going at the other end of the pitch, recording at most 1.0 Expected Goals in their last four league matches.

Ipswich are putting together a track record of being difficult to beat and there could even be opportunities for them to claim all three points at the London Stadium. They have attackers who could be dangerous at the back, while a deeper defensive line should stop the likes of Kudus and Bowen from being much of a factor.

With the Tractor Boys avoiding defeat in 90 minutes across their last five games in all competitions, take them to avoid defeat and extend West Ham’s poor start to the season.
