AFC Wimbledon predictions for Saturday’s League One fixture at Kingsmeadow. Having drawn 0-0 earlier in the campaign, these two meet in League One for the second time this season. Continue reading below to see our tips for this match.

Reason For AFC Wimbledon vs Northampton Betting Tips

Having slipped down the table so much so that reaching the play-offs seem extremely unlikely, AFC Wimbledon have picked things up in recent weeks and come into this fixture unbeaten in four. In the table, as they sit four points below their rivals here, Northampton are faced with the same mid-table obscurity, although they did win for the first time in four last time out against Charlton.

The bet that stands out ahead of this one is ‘Both Teams to Score’. In recent weeks, both Wimbledon and Northampton have upped their productivity in front of goal, but neither look all that secure at the other end.

At home this season, Wimbledon have been far from poor, that’s for sure. Having scored 29 goals at one end, the Dons have certainly gone well at times; however, they’ve looked far from sturdy at the other end and have conceded no less than 20 goals on their own patch. The fact that they’ve kept just four clean sheets in 16 attempts probably won’t please manager Neal Ardley all that much. In looking good at one end and not so good at the other, both teams have found the net in 75% of Wimbledon’s home matches this season.

Northampton are in a fairly similar position on the road. The visitors have scored a very respectable 22 goals away from home this season but they’ve simply conceded far too many and have now shipped a total of 35 goals away from home – only two teams have picked the ball out of their net more times when playing on their travels. Both teams have scored in 11 of their 18 (61%) away matches.

It would be very hard to fancy either of these two to keep a clean sheet here and, therefore, ‘Both Teams to Score’ is well worth backing.

Head to Head

In recent times, this has been a notoriously hard fixture to call. Four of the last five renewals have ended all-square. When the two teams met earlier in the season, honours were even at 0-0.

AFC Wimbledon Team News

AFC Wimbledon Team Badge Chris Whelpdale could return for the hosts here, although the midfielder will be assessed late on. Barry Fuller remains sidelined.

Northampton Team News

Northampton Team Badge Alex Revell is a doubt for the visitors, but defender Neal Eardley is now available. Gabriel Zakuani misses out also.
