Parisians to complete the job in style

PSG hit Chelsea for five in the first leg but it was a wide open contest in which the Blues actually had a higher xG and created more solid chances than Luis Enrique’s side.

Defensive deficiencies cost them dearly and things didn’t get any better over the weekend with a damaging home loss to Newcastle in the Premier League.

Prior to that, the Blues had beat Aston Villa 4-1, Wrexham 4-3 (AET) in the FA Cup and lost 5-2 in Paris.

They have gone six without a clean sheet in all competitions and PSG’s attacking array may put them to the sword in a contest they have to chase.

Vitinha spells Blues danger

Portuguese attacker Vitinha got what proved the decisive fifth goal in Paris last week, edging his side 3-2 in front after Chelsea had twice levelled matters.

The 26-year-old has now scored in three successive Champions League appearances against English opposition, netting five goals across those games. He’s going to be a danger again at Stamford Bridge in what sets up for an attacking game.

Prepare for late drama

If Chelsea are still trailing on aggregate the second half could become desperate. Liam Rosenior won’t want his side going gung-ho from the off but, as the games wears on, they will have little choice.
