Tough clash for both clubs

While Derby await news of a potential buyer, Wayne Rooney has kept things ticking over on the pitch. The hosts are essentially already relegated but they are sure making a good go of saving their dignity in the performances that they are putting in.

Just one of the last nine sides to visit Pride Park kept Derby from scoring and they have even avoided defeat against the likes of promotion chasing Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Stoke during that run.

Given their solidity, it is hard to see the Rams being kept from scoring here and if not for their points deduction, they would be close to being a top half side in terms of home form. As such, I think the value lies away from the win-draw-win markets.

Baggies will be frustrated

The visitors have been solid across the last five rounds (W2, D3) but given the pluckiness of the hosts at home, I don’t think there is much value in backing them to succeed here.

Pride Park ranks in the bottom-four least entertaining Championship grounds in terms of total goals scored per game (two) and as a consequence, I predict that this will be a similarly nip-and-tuck affair.

However, I predict that both teams will score in an edgy 1-1 draw between two sides fighting for very different causes.
