Forest Green Rovers vs Port Vale Predictions

Hopes were high of a run at the play-offs for Port Vale at the start of the season, but their start to the campaign has been less than impressive and indicates that they are more likely to be in for a relegation dog fight come the end of the season. However, this weekend they have the opportunity to kick start their campaign as they make the trip to face a Forest Green side who are still undefeated in the league.

Expectations at the New Lawn will have been fairly conservative at the start of the campaign but the hosts will be very satisfied with the start to the season they have had. Rovers are undefeated in their six outings in the league so far, but they will know with just two of those six matches ending in three points, they need to be more ruthless in front of goal if they are going to go above and beyond their targets come the end of the season.

Making the trip to the New Lawn is a Port Vale side who will have had high expectations at the start of the season but will be very disappointed with what they have managed to serve up so far. Vale have lost in each of their last three outings and, even more disappointingly, they have succumbed to opposition who they will have fully expected to overcome.

Given that the hosts are in such strong form at the moment and the visitors are yet to find their feet this season, it is hard to advise anything other than a home win in this fixture. Rovers have yet to concede more than once in the league so far, and with Port Vale’s away record it looks as though a home win is the only thing which will provide value.
