Notts County vs Swindon Predictions

Everyone had plenty of opinions as to who would be able to win promotion from League Two at the start of the campaign, but even the biggest cynic would not have predicted the plight of Notts County after reviewing their summer recruitment. However, County acted fast to oust former boss Kevin Nolan and bring in Harry Kewell, and despite a promising side he knows, his charges need to win against out of form Swindon this weekend if they are going to continue to climb the table.

Notts County have suffered back-to-back league defeats, losing 4-0 at Bury last weekend before a 2-1 reverse at Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday. The Magpies had previously had plenty to be positive about as it appeared that they had adapted to Kewell’s teachings and were beginning to become the threat many had predicted at the start of the campaign. However, their inability to keep the opposition at bay remains an issue to be addressed and is something which has once again cost them during their previous two league matches.

Swindon Town are without a league win in six matches after falling to a 2-0 home defeat to strugglers Cambridge United on Tuesday night. The Robins may be up against one of the worst defensive units in the division, but they need to address their issues up front, as they have managed to find the back of the net just once in their previous six league matches.

Given the troubles of the visitors to score, it is hard to imagine them coming away with anything this weekend and a home win looks to be the most likely scenario. However, Notts County have been anything other than predictable this season, so we would advise to proceed with caution. With this in mind, we think that backing Notts County on the ‘Draw – No Bet’ market represents the most sensible solution.
