Rosenborg vs PSV Predictions

Rosenborg were held to a goalless draw at home to Brann on Saturday and now sit fourth in the Eliteserien table, while PSV recorded a 4-0 win away at Zwolle and remain joint top of the Eredivisie alongside arch-rivals Ajax.

All of the stats suggest that we will see both teams score in Thursday’s clash and we’ve backed PSV to pick up all three points courtesy of a 3-1 victory.

These two sides have played one another before but that was back in 2004 and PSV won both of those encounters. The last time the pair met in Norway both teams scored, as PSV claimed a narrow 2-1 win against Rosenborg.

The performances of both teams in recent weeks add weight to our prediction of BTTS, as both teams scored in three of Rosenborg’s last and four of PSV’s six matches. Thursday’s hosts have only failed to score in two of their last six matches, while their guests have scored in all of their last six matches, which is why we’re confident there will be goals in this game at both ends of the pitch.

Neither side boasts the best of defensive records heading into Thursday’s clash, as both teams have only kept two clean sheets in their last six attempts. However, both teams are in excellent goal-scoring form, with Rosenborg netting eleven goals in their last six matches and PSV scoring an impressive nineteen goals in their last six games. PSV have scored at least three teams goals in five of their last six matches and that’s why we’ve backed a final score of 3-1 to the Dutch side this week.

We’re confident that both teams will score in Thursday’s match and have predicted a final scoreline of 3-1 in favour of PSV. The visitors arrive as the clear form favourites having won five of their last six matches but both teams have been scoring plenty of goals of late and we expect Thursday’s clash to be open and attacking. PSV have the better of the two squads and play against higher quality opposition on a regular basis in comparison to Rosenborg, so we’re expecting a comfortable win in the end for the Dutch club.
