Tottenham Hotspur and Both Teams To Score
Reasoning
Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United Predictions
- Both teams have scored in ten of Tottenham’s last 12 matches in all competitions
- Over 3.5 goals has been a winning bet in eight of West Ham’s 14 Premier League games this season
- West Ham have the second-worst defensive record in the top half
- Heung-Min Son has nine Premier League goals this season
Hosts to build on big result
Tottenham brought to an end a three-game losing streak with an entertaining 3-3 draw against Manchester City on Sunday and Ange Postecoglou’s men can build on that when they face West Ham on Thursday.
Spurs and their manager have shown their commitment to their style of play throughout this period as they have continued even with their squad players having to fill in given their injury crisis.
There seems to be some respite on that front however with Christian Romero returning from suspension for this clash, shoring up what had been a makeshift back line. Pape Sarr is also returning to full fitness, although his replacement Giovanni Lo Celso impressed against the Citizens, scoring an impressive second goal.
Tottenham are not at their best at the moment but they are still responding well to Postecoglou’s methods and are fancied to get the victory in this derby.
Defensive worries for Hammers
West Ham have put in a solid run of four wins and a draw from their last five games in all competitions but they have not faced an opposition of Tottenham’s quality for a while and their defensive record is of some concern.
The Hammers have conceded 24 goals in 14 matches this term, only Brighton have allowed more in the top 12 teams and that may be the undoing of David Moyes’ men in this clash.
West Ham have faced four of the current top six in the league this term and taken just a point from those games, a 2-2 home draw with Newcastle.
Spurs may well have too much going forward for a Hammers side that are also stretched thanks to their European commitments, something the hosts don’t have to worry about.
Son could be key
West Ham’s defensive issues could be exposed by a Tottenham attacking unit that has flourished under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs have scored in all of their games this season and have netted at least twice in 11 of the 15 matches they have played in all competitions.
This looks set to be a high-scoring affair however, as both teams have found the net in ten of Spurs’ last 12 matches and they could be vulnerable at the back once more in this clash.
Take both teams to score in a Tottenham win in what looks set to be an enthralling battle between two big rivals.
For correct score backers, eight of West Ham’s 14 league games have gone over 3.5 goals and a repeat of that looks likely again, back Spurs to record a 3-1 victory.
Heung-min Son netted his ninth goal of the season against Manchester City, again showing how deadly he can be as a central striker, take him to add to that tally here.
