      Toulouse vs Amiens Predictions

Toulouse held their own for 45 minutes last week against PSG before crumbling in the second half, conceding four times. They missed a golden chance to score via Max-Alain Gradel’s 79th minute header but other than that they didn’t create a lot. However, their solidarity in the first half should be applauded regardless.

Toulouse will be looking forward to playing back at home with them losing just two of their last dozen matches at the Stadium de Toulouse, both of which were against Marseille and PSG. Les Violets have kept four clean sheets in their last seven home games and will be looking to continue that again against a team they have kept quiet in three of their last four clashes.

Amiens have been rather clinical this season though with three goals in their last three matches, all against teams who finished in the top twelve last year. Amiens were unlucky to lose to Nantes last week as they played over an hour with ten men. Bakaye Dibassy got sent off after half an hour, forcing his team to batten down the hatches as best they could for the rest of the game. This was already Amiens’ second dismissal of the season so their results have been rather warped due to them playing just 148 of this campaign’s 360 minutes with eleven men on the pitch.

They have a good attacking setup but it hasn’t been allowed to flourish due to their two sending offs and manager Luka Elsner will surely be pleading that his players keep their cool ahead of Toulouse. Amiens are winless in their last eleven away matches and could suffer here as they travel to a Toulouse side confident in front of their own fans.

Matches including Toulouse and Amiens have been rather low scoring in recent years with none of the four clashes in the last three years seeing over 2.5 goals. Toulouse have been rather steely at home recently but with them coming off the back of a disheartening defeat in Paris, we doubt they’ll keep a clean sheet against an Amiens side who have scored five goals in their last four competitive matches. Toulouse have scored five times in their last four home games though and as a result we’re going to back this one to end as a draw with under 2.5 goals. We’re predicting it to finish 1-1.
